Team Jake
Cpl. Jacob R. Carver wanted to be a soldier his entire life and in September of 2008 he became one by enlisting in The United States Army.
Carver, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division left Fort Campbell Kentucky in 2010 for his first deployment mission to Afghanistan – a mission from which he would not return.
On November 13th, 2010 Cpl. Jacob R. Carver, along with Staff Sgt. Juan L. Rivadeneira and Spc. Jacob C. Carroll, were killed when an insurgent suicide bomber attacked their unit in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan and detonated a vest bomb.
Carver was laid to rest 10 days later in Harrisonville MO by his family, friends and nearly 3000 supporters from the surrounding community.

Teamwork
Cpl. Jacob R. Carver – or as we knew him best ‘Jake’ – had a profound impact on every life that he touched. He was not a guy that you met and later forgot. If you met him, you knew him, you loved him and you definitely remembered him.
He was a country boy with a goofy sense of humor and a great big heart. Jake loved making people smile and would do anything to help a friend in need.
These virtues are what inspired Jake’s family to form “Team Jake” and begin raising money for other military members and their families.
In honor of Jake’s sacrifice and in memory of his spirit Team Jake strives to help those in need and to bring a smile back to their faces.
